Machu Picchu One Day Tour

Machu Picchu One Day Tour

Named one of the New 7 wonders of the world, considered one of the most important energy centers in the world, and an iconic, world-renowned tourist destination, Machu Picchu, awaits to captivate you with its splendor! To reach the site, you have to cross the beautiful Urubamba Valley until you reach the Ollantaytambo or Poroy (Cusco) train station where you take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes. There you board a bus that will take you to the royal Incan citadel.

DAY 1

Cusco – Poroy – Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu

Very early in the morning, we’ll come by your hotel to take you to Ollantaytambo. It’s here where you’ll board the train to Aguas Calientes that will take you from the wonderful Andean mountains to the mysterious Amazonian cloud forest.

During the trip, you’ll see several glaciers and snowy peaks, as well as fertile green valleys and Inca agricultural platforms on both sides of the valley. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you’ll board a bus that will take you to the entrance gates to the historic sanctuary of Machu Picchu. You’ll have a guided tour for 3 hours where you’ll receive detailed information on the culture and history of the city. You’ll visit the main temple, the Temple of the Condor, the Inca Palace, the solar clock, as well as a stone quarry.

After the tour, you’ll have time to climb the Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain (not included in the tour). Otherwise you can explore Machu Picchu as much as you like before returning to Aguas Calientes in the afternoon.

In Aguas Calientes, you will board the train to Ollantaytambo and then will travel to Cusco in a private van. We’ll drop you off at the hotel door. The time of your arrival will depend on the time of your train ticket.
